A project of LSF
The video makes a strong case that technology is not the only mechanism for fighting climate change. Nature has kept the earth in balance for millions of years but by destroying whole ecosystems humans have tipped that balance and created the climate and other environmental catastrophes we now face. Restoring these ecosystems is presented as an essential requirement in regaining that balance. The video describes in detail how three nature-based strategies, restoring forests, protecting wildlife and rebuilding coastal habitats are necessary steps in addressing climate climate change. Ecosystem restoration is not a substitute for decarbonization, but both are necessary to achieve our climate goals and the video offers examples of how individual actions can help.
The video will address outcomes in science, environmental science and geography programs that include the study of ecosystem services , human impact on the environment and climate change.
